A Hybrid Space for the Modern Age

With the changing world brought about by the pandemic, we were challenged by our client Pure Technology Group to develop a space that would bring three locations under #oneroof.

Over a 6 month period we produced innovative designs and solutions that interpreted our client’s business and cultural needs. Delivering a design and a project against 7 of the strongest competitors in the industry both regionally and nationally.

A Hybrid Space for the Modern Age

15,000 sq.ft Reimagined

With the dynamics of work changing, we were tasked with creating a hybrid space that was a destination for both employee and clients alike. A place to develop and nurture the strong cultural values of a young, vibrant and ambitious organisation. Developing a space that that could react to the changing needs of the business and its people, whilst also being mindful of budget and timeframes.

This design breaks the mould by creating an open welcoming space that doesn’t feel in anyway like a call centre. We did this by thinking angular; moving away from the linear lines of the white box we inherited to create a modern active feel, utilising flooring, lighting and well considered furniture to create a space that reflects the dynamic business that is Pure.

The space has been developed to give that sense of movement, whilst keeping an open plan feel, using angled partitioning cleverly to break up space whilst still offering views and a line of sight across the entire floor, which was a client requirement.

The approach to the flow of the building enabled our design team to craft zones within the environment that were flexible. Enabling the space to adapt depending on the business needs a collage of spaces with multiple functions though the clever use of non-static furniture elements, that also enhance the spaces but don’t limit them to one role in the office footprint.

Why Did Pure Choose Dale Office

An office
to foster a strong culture

This three-story project is full of impactful features from the non-linear angular flow that adds a sense of dynamism, to the hybrid work zones, social spaces including replica Chewbacca! This space delivers on every level.

On the Ground Floor a welcoming sense of arrival has been created with a bespoke glass house entrance, which you transition through into the Reception area with its concrete desk, and view of the angular state of the art Boardroom facility which is adorned with the company history. This space screams impact for both employees and visitors alike.

The use of a dark colour palette contrasts beautifully with the white stone wall of the mill. Focusing your eye centrally into this sophisticated space, extenuated with impactful lighting, ceiling hung swing pods and the subtle dashes of brand colour opening to reveal a kitchen and visitor touchdown points.

All of this creates a contemporary mature brand statement, these themes have been continued through the other floors, but adapted to the changing focuses and teams they support. The First Floor is about collaboration, with a mixture of training spaces, tiered seating, conventional workstations and collaborative work zones.

The second focuses on the social aspects. Biophilia, neon signage and Instagram areas all with the aim of integrating the team into the marketing function. This floor is the hive of activity, with the kitchen area bench seating, high-backed booths and gold gin bar for the teams nightly social gatherings. It is a space that connects people from every floor.
