Out of the blue? The impact of colour on productivity
At Dale, we believe using colour effectively is an integral part of creating a workspace that reflects your organisation’s culture.
The building’s previous owner had given the interior of the building a landlord fit out and a clean. We could have made our lives easy by putting together a design scheme that replaced all of the floor finishes. But we chose not to.
The carpet tiles used in the landlord fit out were a bland grey and beige stripe. Perfectly serviceable but not exciting.
In the name of value and sustainability, we maintained as much of the original carpet as we could in our design. But we punctuated it with areas of better quality, more interesting carpet from Interface® – the global leader in the manufacture of sustainable modular carpet tiles. This allowed us to create zonal differences that add vibrancy and impact where it matters most. Over 60% of floor finishes were reused.
The new carpet installed was premium modular flooring from Interface® featuring 100% pre and post-consumer recycled content. Using sustainable materials, making environmentally-friendly design choices and looking for ways to save on energy consumption are no longer optional in office design. They are a legal, financial and ethical imperative. Sustainability is central to how we work, as you’d expect.
