Optm entrusted the Dale Office team to create a social and collaborative space that functioned as a true Work Café. Enabling individuals to work independently and teams to break out and socialise during the day, as well as a space that morphed into an event space/bar facilitating colleagues to connect in a societal setting in the evening, all within the footprint of the company’s HQ facility.
After an incredible year of expansion, Optm needed additional space in the headquarters’ main building to sustain their increasing headcount without compromising on the social and collaborative spaces that would be lost as a result. This prompted them to expand into the basement space to ensure the space was retained for their staff to use, whilst also taking the opportunity to build on the culture and offer their teams an unrivalled experience.
The delivered space exceeded on their initial aims, providing a flexible open plan area that is divided into different zones to support variety of work and social activities, whilst offering the flexibility for the zonal spaces to work collectively for events and larger social gatherings.
Zonal spaces for every occasion
A formal collaborative space was cleverly created with the use of an acoustic curtain solution, which offered privacy when required but also enabled the space to be part of the larger space with just the pull of a curtain.
We also created multiple semi-formal spaces with the use of booths; perfect for small team discussions or 1:1’s. We also provided a mixture of informal seating options for people to have lunch, relax on a couch, sit at the island in the Work Café area, or perch on stools while having a game of pool. The space offers so much flexibility and most importantly choice for the Optm team.
With 3,000 sq.ft of reconfigurable office space, this is another tool to support Optm’s talent attraction and retention strategies as they move into 2023 and beyond. Delivering on their status as platinum Investors in People, whilst offering new and current employees an experience unmatched in the Leeds area.
